Thought for the day ...

As one of the biggest cities in the world, you would think that rush hour in London would be a torturous necessity. Surprisingly, the morning and afterwork rush hour on the subway is quite civilized, all things considered. Everyone seems to have their own 'route' developed over months or years of repetition. There's very little pushing and shoving despite the tens of thousands of people making their way through the system each day. Everyone seems to respect each other's need to get to work unscathed and unbruised ...

Contrast to the weekend crowd who don't seem to know where they are going or how to get there. It's a chaotic mess of young and old travellers, strollers, wheelie suitcases, large shopping bags full with the day's finds...
